The websites newzealandtourist.com and myTravelAgency.com are the online arms of Courtyard Travel, Incorporated (CTI), a quality-focused retail travel agency headquartered in Tustin, California which was established in 1978. Headed by Don Carlson, CTI serves the general public and companies with planning and implementation of business and leisure travel arrangements.
BUSINESS MIX
CTI’s sales mix is approximately 50% business and 50% leisure. We serve many small businesses such as law firms, medical offices, and construction firms as well as the general public. The leisure component includes air, car, and hotel reservations for non-business clients, plus tour and cruise booking/ticketing. We have specialty niches for New Zealand venues and foreign independent tour (FIT) planning and implementation which include activity areas such as honeymoons, wine tours, and adventure tours.
INDUSTRY ASSOCIATIONS
CTI is a member in good standing of the International Airlines Travel Agent Network (IATAN) and the Airline Reporting Corporation (ARC), the agencies responsible for accrediting and monitoring travel agents on behalf of airlines. As a member of the Western Association of Travel Agencies (WESTA), CTI is assured of the backing and volume purchasing power of a large industry consortium yielding favorable rates from preferred tour and cruise suppliers. CTI is also a member of CLIA, the Cruise Line International Association, providing excellent connections to cruise lines, and special discounts plus value-added business services and products.
MANAGEMENT
CTI has been headed by Donald J. Carlson since its incorporation on Jan. 1, 1989. Mr. Carlson holds a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He worked in the aerospace industry for 30 years in various technical and management positions before assuming control of CTI.
Constance R. Lofton has been the Office Manager for CTI since 1989. In that position, she directs technical operations and oversees financial and personnel activity for inside and outside sales operations.
